Gridiron Victoria (GV), in partnership with the City of Latrobe Council are proud to announce that the 2015 Gridiron Victoria VIC BOWL XXXI will be held at the Latrobe City Sports & Entertainment Stadium in Morwell.
The event, to be held on Saturday 15th August culminates the 31st season of Men’s American Football here in Victoria.

“The people of Morwell and the Greater Gippsland area have really embraced our sport and we are delighted to be bringing our biggest day of the year to the region” said GV President Sam Weller. “Latrobe City Stadium is a truly first class facility and we expect this to be our biggest and best Vic Bowl yet, building upon the momentum of last years event when more than 1000 people made the trip to Bendigo for Vic Bowl 30″ he added.
Latrobe City Council’s mayor, Councillor Dale Harriman, said that the event was bound to be huge hit with the sports loving community of Latrobe.
“We love sport here; we love diversity of sport and we enjoy the thrill of live competition. The 2015 Gridiron Victoria Vic Bowl ticks all the boxes for us and we’re delighted to be able to host this event.”
“We have built up a reputation as a regional venue of choice for many sports and leisure events over the years, with our variety of top quality facilities and our enthusiastic and knowledgeable audiences.
“We look forward to welcoming the players, officials and fans for this gridiron extravaganza,” Cr Harriman said.
The Vic Bowl is the Division One Championship Game played between the two best teams in the state. The program will also feature a curtain raiser with the Division Two Championship Game played earlier in the day. Morwell is home to the Gippsland Gladiators who are the reigning Div Two Champs.
“I am extremely excited at this opportunity to have Gridiron Victoria’s top teams hit it out in our home town and showcase the great sport that is American Football here in Latrobe City” added Gladiators President Paul Fotheringham.
GV has expanded rapidly in the past 5 years with clubs in major regional centers and the biggest junior and women’s competition in Australia.
In addition to two games of American Football, the event will feature food and beverage for sale, entertainment, music, cheerleaders and much more.
