Junior Season – Week One

The 2013 junior season has begun and with three opening round games that were close for the majority of the day, it’s set a precedent for a fantastic competition this season.

First up: the Monash Warriors defeated the 2012 Vic Bowl Champions the Croydon Rangers 28-20, in a tight contest.

In the middle game, the Western Crusaders defeated the Geelong Buccaneers 33-18 and in the final game of the day, the Berwick Miners edged out the Northern Raiders, 38-24.

Update: Check out this sensational play by Jordan recently, a first of its kind lateral punt for a first down which caught press across the US:

Jordan Berry, the former Crusaders, Victorian, and Australian stand-out punter is etching a name for himself in the American collegiate ranks. Berry is now playing with the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky.

Senior State Head Coach Applications Open

Applications are now open for the Head Coach of the Gridirion Victoria Eagles Senior State Team, competing in 2012.

GV Superbowl Party Huge Success

The GV Super Bowl party at TGI Fridays was a huge success, with a packed house and a massive return during our fundraising auction.  Three items sold for over $2000, with special congratulations and thanks to TGI’s Andrew Cox buying two of the items.  GV is thrilled with the result of the day and thanks TGI’s for all their support over this event and the last year.

Now – onto the regular season!
