The Gridiron Victoria Board and Clubs are happy to announce that the 2020 season for all competitions will be going ahead.
After a meeting of all club presidents and GV Chairman Daniel Noonan it was decided to postpone the start of the season until October and play a split season with games up to December 13th before taking a break for the Christmas and New Year period and returning for the remaining games in finals in early 2021.
This decision was not made lightly but the clubs and the GV board believe this gives the best opportunity to have a successful season and give both new people to the sport and existing players adequate time to train and prepare for the season.
The 2020 season will also see the return of the Division 2 concept for the men’s competition with the plan to have 2 x 7 team Divisions.
The GV Board would like to thank the clubs, players and VGOA for helping us work through the current situation and reaching a resolution .
