History of the Rangers

The Croydon Rangers were formed in 1984 when the Monash Vipers moved from Monash University to Croydon to become one of the founding members of the Victorian Gridiron Football League. Now known as Gridiron Victoria the Croydon Rangers are one of only two original founding teams. The Rangers have had a had very successful history, with many players selected to for Victorian and Australian duties.

In addition to their success on the field, the Croydon Rangers have been instrumental in developing American football in Australia. The club has a strong focus on developing young players, and has been responsible for the development of many of Australia’s top American football players. The Rangers have also been involved in promoting the sport in the local Maroondah community, and have worked to develop partnerships with local schools and community organisations.

The Rangers are always looking for more people to join the club and you don’t need to know anything about Gridiron when you first start out (but it helps).
